Looking Back and Moving Forward

Hank Lewis blogs on random thoughts that flow through his head.  Most are related directly to being a gay man in Orlando, Florida.  Many of the entries involve looking back at his time spent in the proverbial "gay closet" and now looking forward having left the closet for the freedom of the real world.  You can read more about Hank on the blog or on the "contact us" section of this website.

Pam’s House Blend…always steamin’.   An Online Magazine in the Reality-Based Community.

Blogger Pam Spaulding describes her blog by saying, “The Blend was launched back in July 2004, and I created it to let off steam about the upcoming election and the state of issues that affect my life as an out lesbian -- the right not to lose my job because I am gay, the right to marry -- issues that were front and center as the homosexual boogeyman was flogged endlessly by the right wing.   I was shouting into the electronic void, not really expecting anyone to drop by and leave comments (a way to open discussion with the bloghost and others who read a particular post). But somehow, eventually, folks dropped by, from near and far, to share what they thought about a particular rant I had for the day.

Eye on ‘Gay Muslims’Principled, compassionate Islamic perspectiveHere we discuss the concept and emergence of "Gay Muslims", considering that homosexual activity is clearly forbidden in Islam. We kindly advise Muslims struggling with same-sex attraction, affirming that nobody is sinful for what they feel inside. As for those people who try to distort the religion, we refute them soundly with evidence.

My friend Zeke, a cook Quaker in Boston, has spent a lot of time thinking about gender. Perhaps Zeke will share some of the journey at some point, but recently Zeke posted something on Facebook that I asked if I could share here at the blog. It is a Cisgender Privilege Checklist.
